Owner & Director

Ms. Bri

Ms. Bri is the owner and Director of Montessori School of Cayman. She is also the Lead Directress in our Casa environment.
She actually attended Montessori School of Cayman (MSC) herself from 1993-1995. Ms. Bri received her BA (Hons) in Education and Early Childhood Development in Bristol, England. She then went on to The University of Oxford and received her MSc in Education and Child Development. After some teaching experience, she made the decision to follow the path of Montessori and complete her AMI Montessori Diploma (2.5-6) training in London. Ms. Bri moved back to Cayman after the end of her training and assisted in the beginnings of the Montessori programme at Village Montessori when she was hired as their Head Casa Teacher. In the summer of 2016, Ms. Peggy passed the baton to Ms. Bri, and she took over Montessori School of Cayman (even moving in upstairs!). Since then, Bri has made amazing changes to the school and the building itself to allow for more indoor and outdoor classroom spaces. Bri has dedicated her work at the school to develop the Montessori curriculum and programmes offered to ensure a holistic and authentic delivery of Montessori education. In her free time, Bri loves to spend time with her friends and family, spend time at the beach or in the sea, exercise and travel.

Ms. Emy

Miss Emy comes from Italy, where today’s most important and popular teaching methods originate.

When she was a teenager, she attended the Language High School learning English, French, and Spanish.

During her training as a teacher, she learned different teaching methods (Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Stainer, Agazzi, and more), and after getting her Teaching License she worked for the Italian Ministry of Education for a long time as a Primary School Teacher. Most of the time she worked with special needs kids, which suited her qualification, Master Degree in Special Education.

At the end of 2016, she took some time off and came to visit the Cayman Islands. Once here, Miss Emy fell in love with the place and the people, and she decided to relocate to Grand Cayman. Willing to share her skills and experience as a teacher, she started working in different Montessori schools on the island till she joined our team at Montessori School of Cayman.

Miss Emy expressed her love for children since she was a kid, taking care of her younger sisters and all the kids of her parents’ friends…And later, taking care of her nieces and nephew, of course!

She is always impressed by the children’s curiosity and their creativity. As also explained in Maria Montessori’s book “The secret of Childhood”, children are driven by creative energy, a vital impulse, a force that drives them to act. According to Miss Emy, teachers have a guiding role, a facilitator’s role, and allow the child to access what he or she is interested in, and must have the ability to convey knowledge combined with the ability to incite amazement and love for knowledge. Miss Emy's educational philosophy is to understand and enhance the uniqueness of every child, promoting the development of identity, autonomy, competence, and citizenship. Each student brings with him/her a wealth of talent that simply needs to be discovered and valued. Goethe suggested, “children can make anything out of anything”. So…Let’s be inspired by them!

Miss Emy loves nature and she is passionate about healthy food and all the natural products. She also loves art in all its expressions. Thanks to the inspiration from her grandmother, who was a good painter, after high school, she attended a Fashion Design Academy. Interested in acting and movies, she studied Visual Art and Drama. Despite she can play the piano by ear, she never took a lesson, even if her grandfather was a good musician and tried to give her some piano lessons. She also likes dancing and singing, especially when her friends play the ukulele. From her father instead, she got her passion for sports, she enjoys playing volleyball, tennis, badminton, from which she is a Badminton Certified Coach. She enjoys swimming, of course, that’s also why Miss Emy is in love with the Cayman Islands with their amazing beaches and the Caribbean sea. And last but not least, Miss Emy loves to travel around the world when it is possible, and when she has some time, she reports her adventures on her website where she suggests places to visit.

Ms. India

Ms. India is one of our Teaching Assistants, helping in the Toddler and Casa environments. She was born and raised in Cayman and attended Montessori School of Cayman when she was little.
Ms. India joined our team in January of 2020 as part of Inclusion Cayman’s Rotary Employment Partnership. She has discovered, after having so much fun being part of the MSC family and gaining experience, that she is passionate about working with young children and has completed her AMI Montessori Assistant’s Training Certificate as well as a qualification in Zero to Three, The Growing Brain: From Birth to 5 years old. In her time off, Ms. India enjoys bullet journaling, running, yoga and Ryde classes, music, hanging out at the beach with friends and family - all with her faithful Golden Retriever, Bailey, by her side.
